Bud Cort, born Walter Edward Cox on March 29, 1948, is an American former actor known for his unconventional leading roles in Robert Altman's Brewster McCloud (1970) and Hal Ashby's Harold and Maude (1971). He made notable appearances in films like M*A*S*H (1970), Electric Dreams (1984), Heat (1995), Dogma (1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004). Cort also lent his voice to the character Toyman in various series of the DC Animated Universe. Discovered by Robert Altman, he gained fame for his role as the suicide-obsessed Harold in Harold and Maude, which became a cult classic.
