Clive Barker is an English novelist, playwright, author, film director, and visual artist. Born on October 5, 1952, he gained prominence in the mid-1980s with the release of his series of short stories called the Books of Blood, establishing himself as a leading horror writer. Barker has written numerous novels and works, many of which have been adapted into films. Notably, he wrote and directed the first installment of the Hellraiser series and was an executive producer for the Academy Award-winning film Gods and Monsters.
