Frederick Coffin Biography
Frederick D. Coffin (January 16, 1943 – July 31, 2003) was an American film actor, singer, songwriter, and musician. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Coffin was the son of actress Winifred Deforest Coffin and writer Dean Coffin. He studied theater at Western Reserve Academy and later attended the University of Michigan, earning a B.A. and a master's degree in theater. Coffin made his screen debut in the television film Much Ado About Nothing in 1973, and his first feature film appearance was in Dragonfly in 1976. He appeared in King of the Gypsies in 1978 and went on to appear in several films throughout the 1980s.
