Himesh Jitendra Patel is a British actor, musician, and singer. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Tamwar Masood in the BBC soap opera EastEnders from 2007 to 2016. Patel further showcased his talent in the Channel 4 sitcom Damned from 2016 to 2018. He made notable appearances in films such as Yesterday (2019) and Tenet (2020). In 2021, Patel starred in the HBO miniseries Station Eleven and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. He also impressed audiences with his role in Adam McKay's Netflix film Don't Look Up, earning a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture. Born on October 13, 1990, in Sawtry, Cambridgeshire, Patel is of Indian Gujarati heritage and grew up speaking Gujarati.
