Liz Sheridan (1929–2022) was an American actress best known for her roles as Mrs. Ochmonek in the sitcom ALF (1986–1990) and as Jerry's mother, Helen, in Seinfeld (1990–1998). Born on April 10, 1929, in Rye, New York, Sheridan's parents were Frank Sheridan, a classical pianist, and Elizabeth Poole-Jones, a concert singer. She started her career as a nightclub dancer and singer in the 1950s before working in the Caribbean. In the late 1960s, she returned to New York City and performed in Julius Monk's annual cabaret revues. Sheridan had a decades-long career on stage and screen, with numerous TV show appearances, making her a respected figure in the entertainment industry.
