Michael Pollan Biography
Michael Pollan is an American author and journalist, born on February 6, 1955. He is currently a Professor of the Practice of Non-Fiction at Harvard University and a Knight Professor of Science and Environmental Journalism at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Pollan is well-known for his books exploring the societal impacts of food, including 'The Botany of Desire' and 'The Omnivore's Dilemma.' In 2020, he co-founded the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics. Pollan studied at Mansfield College, Oxford, and holds a B.A. in English from Bennington College and an M.A. in English from Columbia University. He was born into a Jewish family in Long Island, New York, to author Stephen Pollan and columnist Corky Pollan.
