Nicholas Farrell (born 1955) is an English stage, film, and television actor. He was born in Brentwood, Essex and attended Fryerns Grammar and Technical School in Basildon. Farrell studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He gained early recognition for his role as Aubrey Montague in the 1981 film Chariots of Fire. Farrell also starred in television adaptations such as Mansfield Park (1983), Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984), and The Jewel in the Crown. He has appeared in various screen adaptations of Shakespeare's works, including Kenneth Branagh's 1996 Hamlet as Horatio. Other notable film appearances include Twelfth Night (1996), Othello (1995), and In the Bleak Midwinter (1995).
