Russell Wong (born March 1, 1963) is an American actor known for his work in film and television. Born in Troy, New York, Wong is the sixth of seven children. He is the son of Connie Van Yserloo, an American artist of French and Dutch descent, and William Wong, a Chinese American restaurateur. Wong attended Santa Monica City College and trained as a dancer. He is skilled in various martial arts, including taekwondo, shoji ryu karate, and fu jow pai kung fu. Wong made history as one of the first actors of Chinese descent to hold a leading role in a primetime American television series, starring in the critically acclaimed 'Vanishing Son'.
