He gained recognition with his podcast Desus vs. Mero alongside Desus Nice, which premiered in 2013. Martinez was a cast member of Guy Code with Desus Nice and co-hosted the talk show Desus & Mero on Viceland until June 2018. He currently co-hosts the Showtime series Desus & Mero, which premiered in 2019. Born in Washington Heights, Manhattan, Martinez grew up in various neighborhoods in the Bronx.
