Tyler Lee Hoechlin (born September 11, 1987) is an American actor known for his roles in film and television. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Michael Sullivan Jr. in the 2002 film Road to Perdition. From 2003 to 2007, Hoechlin starred as Martin Brewer on the television series 7th Heaven. He is also well-known for his role as Derek Hale on the hit TV show Teen Wolf and for his portrayal of Superman in The CW's Supergirl (2016–2019) and Superman & Lois (2021–present). Born in Corona, California, Hoechlin comes from a diverse ethnic background and has two brothers and an older sister. He graduated from Santiago High School in 2006.
